Indications

It is an appetite stimulant for puppies and adult animals that have suffered from bacterial, viral, or parasitic diseases that suppress appetite. It aids in rapid recovery by preventing bodily decompensation and promoting weight gain. It is also a supportive treatment in postoperative recovery.

Additionally, it acts as an antihistamine and serotonin antagonist (H1 receptor blocker) for managing pruritus and dermatological allergies in dogs and cats. Its vitamin supplement component further assists in the recovery of weakened animals.

It also has H1 antihistaminic, anticholinergic, and central sedative activity. It may be used for the symptomatic relief of hypersensitivity reactions such as urticaria and angioedema, rhinitis, conjunctivitis, and pruritic skin conditions at higher doses. Furthermore, it has applications in the prophylaxis and treatment of migraine and vascular headaches, as an appetite stimulant particularly in cases of anorexia nervosa, in cachectic patients with advanced cancer, and in controlling diarrhea associated with carcinoid syndrome.
