Indications

Effective against susceptible Gram-positive and Gram-negative aerobic bacteria, Mycoplasma, and Rickettsia species. It is indicated for the treatment of respiratory, periodontal, genitourinary, dermatological (skin), external and middle ear (otitis externa and otitis media) infections.

The causative agent of Feline Infectious Anemia, which has recently been reclassified as a Mycoplasma, is also susceptible to this medication.
Dose

Dogs and Cats:

5 mg/kg body weight, equivalent to 1 mL per 5 kg body weight, administered every 24 hours for 3–5 days.

Mustelids (Ferrets) and Small Mammals (rabbits, hedgehogs, chinchillas, gerbils, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, and rats):

5–10 mg/kg body weight, equivalent to 1 mL per 2.5–5 kg body weight, administered every 12 hours for 14 days.

Ornamental Birds (passerines, psittacines, and pigeons):

5–10 mg/kg body weight, equivalent to 1 mL per 2.5–5 kg body weight, administered every 8 hours for 3–5 days.
