It is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic infections of the respiratory tract, as well as genitourinary infections, enteric infections, and skin infections such as pyodermas, abscesses, wounds, cellulitis, otitis media, and soft tissue infections caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria — both aerobic and anaerobic. It is also effective against β-lactamase–producing bacteria and certain strains resistant to penicillin, ampicillin, and plain amoxicillin that affect dogs and cats.
