A broad-spectrum antidiarrheal and antimicrobial effective against infections caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negativemicroorganisms such as Escherichia coli, Pasteurella spp., Klebsiella spp., Pseudomonas spp., Proteus spp., Campylobacter spp., Vibrio spp., Treponema spp., and Clostridium spp., as well as some protozoal infections caused by Trichomonas, Isospora, and Eimeria, and also against Mycoplasma and Rickettsia species sensitive to the formula’s action.
It is specifically used as an adjunct treatment for various types of diarrhea — mechanical, viral, and bacterial, both acute and chronic — and in cases where it is desired to reduce intestinal motility.
