Formulation

Once reconstituted, each mL contains:
Azithromycin dihydrate 40 mg
Vehicle q.s. to 1 mL

Indications

Broad-spectrum antimicrobial indicated for the treatment of respiratory infections (upper and lower respiratory tract), otorhinolaryngological, dermatological, stomatological, urogenital, digestive, and osteoarticular infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to the active ingredient in the formula.
Dose

General dose:
10 mg/kg body weight once daily for 3 to 5 days (Plumb, 2018).

Rx Spectrum® Azithromycin
Dogs and cats: administer 1 mL (40 mg) per 4 kg body weight for 3 to 5 days. For the elimination of coccidia, two doses of 30 mg/kg body weight every 48 hours are recommended.

For the treatment of chlamydiosis, a dose of 10 mg/kg body weight every 24 hours for 15 days is recommended, followed by 5 mg/kg body weight every 24 hours for 7 days, then 5 mg/kg body weight every 48 hours for 14 days.

The dosage may be modified at the discretion of the Veterinarian.
